Tourism ASNAUGA Galicia and collaborate in performing a journey between Italy and Galicia to mark the eighth centenary of the pilgrimage to St. Francis of Assisi to Santiago

The Council of the Xunta authorized to underwrite the collaboration agreement between Galicia and Tourism Association of Yacht Clubs of Galicia - ASNAUGA for organizing this nautical Xacobea Crossing . This collaborative action is part of the activities commemorating the eighth centenary of the Pilgrimage of Saint Francis James (1214-2014) held until mid- 2015 in Galicia. With programs of cultural , artistic, social activities and performances and research initiatives related to tourism development which aims to promote tourism and cultural revitalization of Galicia through the meanings and values of the Jacobean pilgrimage of St. Francis of Assisi .

A collaboration between Galicia and Tourism aims to promote and disseminate ASNAUGA or give VIII Centenary Pilgrimage to St. Francis Santiago , as well as maritime heritage culture eo da comunidade , ao tempo that Promove to do environmental protection. This project arises from the idea of recall , to some extent , the pilgrimage of St. Francis of Assisi and the apostle Traslatio Compostela by sea. It will depart from two nautical routes , the Atlantic and the Mediterranean . Different marinas will touch up to Galicia Rias Baixas .

Will take place between June and July 2014, may reach Compostela before 12 July. That trip would take approximately 18 to 24 days ( Mediterranean route) , and between 5 and 8 days ( Atlantic Road ) with calls at various ports .

We take as starting path for the Mediterranean port of Genoa with stops in France , Mallorca, Levante , Andalusia and Portugal , returning to Galicia where ports will be playing " Q " .

The travel distance is a total of approximately 1,542 nautical miles .
